2017/03 SLEEP: music score wins an award at Depth Of Field International Film Festival.

Maria Eugenia Leon is the composer for the short film SLEEP which has won, among other awards, the Award Excellence for Direction and Original Score.

2016/06 Concert in Burbank.

Maria Eugenia Leon was the guest composer and pianist in the Concert organized by violinist Miki Cruz, celebrated in Burbank. She premiered various of her piano pieces.

2016/04 Choir Piece premier with various Children Choirs in Santa Monica.

During April and May, Maria Eugenia Leon is the guest conductor and composer in the series of Children Choir Concerts organized in Santa Monica (SMMUSD). She will premier her second choral piece written, also being able to conduct it with the choirs.

Maria Eugenia Leon wrote the music for an advertisement that is airing in Santa Monica City TV. It is about a care package for veterans that need reinsertion in society after war. Offered by the Jewish Vocational Services.

2014/12 Benefic Concert in Berlin.

Maria Eugenia Leon wrote an arrangement for the lullaby "Arrorró" from the Canary Islands for a Benefic Concert in Berlin, with the Soprano Marina León.

2014/07 Conducting Fellowship Program with the Cal Phil

During summer Maria Eugenia worked on the conducting fellowship program with the California Philharmonic, where she could assist to the rehearsals and concerts, and be sourrunded by musicians who usually perform in high quality film recording sessions from LA area, all between the Walt Disney Concert Hall and the Santa Anita Race Track.

 

2014/05 Concert of Music by Composers from the Canary Islands.

On June 27th the great Soprano, Marina León, performed a concert with all pieces by composers from the Canary Islands. one of the pieces of the program was "Maggie", a recent work from Maria Eugenia Leon, it was world premiered, also with great pianist Alberto Manzanares Núñez, at Casa de Colón, in Las Palmas of Gran Canaria.

 
2014/05 Conducting the Palisades Symphony

On June 8th she conducted the orchestra in the concert that presented the Winners of the 43rd Young Artist Competitions.

 
2014/05 Screening at SVA Theater in NY

In April and May, an amazing animated short film that Maria Eugenia scored was screened twice, at this great theater in New York.

 

 

2013/12 Conservatory of Music of Las Palmas of Gran Canaria

In December she was invited to chat with the composition students from the Conservatory of Gran Canaria, where she could share with them my experiences, and give them some advices about being a musician abroad. She was invited by the great composers Laura Vega and Gonzalo Díaz Yerro.

 
2013/10 Recording at The House of Rock

In October Maria Eugenia Leon had the opportunity to record piano in this fabulous place in Santa Monica, a house-studio that has excelent ecquipment and a very nice grand piano. Thanks to engineer Mert Özcan for such a professional work.

 
2013/07 Scoring the short film: Elegy for Julian Grace

On July 2nd she finished the music for this short film by the director Charles Berg. The music is now getting mixed to be finally insert in the short.

 
2013/06 Conducting the Palisades Symphony

On June 9th Maria Eugenia conduected for the first time the orchestra in the concert that presented the Winners of the 43rd Young Artist Competitions.

On June 8th Maria Eugenia Leon's music was premiered at the UCLA Festival of Animation, music for the shortfilm "What's wrong with the people?" by the director Yoomi Kim.

During Fall 2012, Maria Eugenia Leon had the opportunity to collaborate with composers Patrick McArthur and Navid Hejazi in the music for this company advertisement.



2012/09 Moved to L.A., California.

Maria Eugenia Leon moved to Los Angeles in september 2012.


2012/04 Recording "The Snowman".

She recorded her final project, "The Snowman", at the Berklee Film Scoring Studio, on April 27th. She conducted a string section and a wind quintet for the recording session.

 

2012/04 Composition Awards Concert

She participated in the Awards Concert last April 9th 2012 at Berklee College of Music, because she received the Youth Concerts at Symphony Hall Award. In this concert, she premiered her Second Piano Sonata and her string arrangement of the Lullaby called "Arrorró".



2012/02 The Society of Composers Concert. Cafe 939.

 The Society of Composers.Maria Eugenia Leon performed and premiered her piano piece at the Red Room Cafe 939, on february 14th with



2011/12 Club Natación Metropole - Concert.

She could perform her piano pieces "Boston Common" and the second movement from her Second Piano Sonata during the Annual Concert last December 29th, in Gran Canaria. The great Soprano Marina León and the great pianist Alberto Manzanares Núñez shared stage with her.



2011/11 Fusion: an artistic crossroads.

Maria Eugenia Leon was invited to be part of this fusion show at the Berklee Performance Center last November 7th 2011. The Kalistos String Orchestra performed her piece "Sueños Rotos", with the conductor Francisco Noya. She was invited by the composer Andrew List.



2011/05 Silent Film ¨It¨. Directed by Sheldon Mirowitz.

Maria Eugenia Leon was selected by Sheldon Mirowitz to be part of this project, where some selected composers from Berklee re-scored the music for this movie (under the direction of Sheldon Mirowitz) from 1927 and premiered in the Coolidge Corner Theatre in May 2nd 2011.



2011/02 New Piano Music. David Friend Recital Hall.

Her music was selected to be played at the New Piano Music Concert, she was also selected as a performer for this concert, where music from composers from Berklee College of Music were presented by the pianist and professor Stephany Tiernan and the composer Andrew List.



2011/01 María Eugenia León. Berklee Performance Center.

Maria Eugenia Leon was selected to prepare a Concert with her original compositions at the biggest Hall at Berklee: the Berklee Performance Center, last January 24th 2011. She was the producer, composer, pianist and singer of this event. She prepared part of her classic repertoir as well as some of her pop-jazz songs.
